Tuesday in Flagstaff

Headed up to a bouldering area on the western slope of Mount Eldon. My little tin can of a car made it .. barely. Very pretty with nice pine needle covered trails. The wind was howling though, a sign of bad weather to come. Deciding I'd rather spend time on that problem from the day before at Priest Draw, I left and headed to where I was yesterday.

The weather was a tiny bit better at Priest Draw, but the wind would howl through occasionally and it grew rather cold when the sun wasn't peeking through the clouds rushing by. Spent alot of time working that dumb problem but never did get to link it completely. Ah well. Spent the late afternoon in the library where I wasn't able to access email (only 20 mins per day which I had used up in the morning). Came back out to my car to find an inch of snow on it, though not on the pavement.

Being a little leery of camping in the snow (with my tiny little car) and it being 20F, I studied my map and decided to drive east a bit and do some sight seeing the next day. An hour later found me camped out in my backseat again, parked in a rest area, just down the road from a national monument I always wanted to see, Meteor Crater!
