Wed - San Diego

My plans were switched up a bit as my friend in San Diego had to fly back to NJ on Thursday to finish the closing on his house and I drove to SD on Wednesday to drive around the city and have dinner with him that evening.

During the afternoon, I drove through alot of the city including downtown, down by the beach (walked down a flight of stairs to a rocky shore) and through San Jolla - very pretty and very expensive. If you think NJ is expsensive, you should reconsider - you need to at least double prices for an equivalent house.

Met up with Shekar and his wife Sonja and had dinner at a rather good indian restaurant, the name of which I can't recall at present. It was good to see Shekar and his wife again and we had some good conversation. They really like SD but have found it very very frustrating selling their house back in NJ from so far away. They definitely recommend selling one's house before moving any place far away.

La Jolla (not San Jolla)!!!

Yes, it is very expensive. But very beautiful. Top of the Cove restaurant is pretty nice. How about this? The 15% tip for a meal for 4 (no booze) in 1990 came to $40. That was a $270 meal in 1990...
