Ah, internet access (Vegas)

Ah, I finally got internet access! Being out west is really nice.

Spent Wed and Thurs in Las Vegas, or rather 20 minutes east at Red Rocks, climbing with friends who were out for the week from NJ. Wed was really gorgeous. Did a 5 pitch climb called Olive Oil. Was really hot after the 45 minutes hike in but once we got up on the rock things were perfectly cool. I have some nice pictures, though alas no way to post them up here at this point. (Currently sitting in a coffee shop). On Thursday the group of us (6 of us) had a shorter hike in (about 15 minutes) and spent the day doing single pitch sport and trad climbing. The canyon we were in was in shade the whole day. Very nice. That night we went to the Bannf Mountain Film Festival which was in town at a local library. A couple of the films were a little strange - not sure what a 10 years old's film about skiing using stop-frame animation of legos was about, but the 50 min film about two folks traveling from Mongolia to India was really cool.
