Friday - Tucson

Having gone to bed early at 10, I found myself up and about around 6:15. Shared some espresso with Noreen ('illy' coffee is amazing!) and set up her new Dell computer, before heading out into town. Went down to the San Xavier Mission is South Tucson - an amazing place to walk through the church (build ~1795). Alas, I forgot my camera!!! After walking through the church, I watched a 25 minute video on the restoration which was quite interesting. Walked through the church again with a whole new eye for what they've done. Very cool.

Went back to Noreen's to pick up my camera and then went west through Gate's Pass to the Sajuaro (sp?) National Park - very pretty - tons of cactus. Got some nice pictures I hope. My heart started beating a little hard after a park ranger came swinging at a corner. Whee. Got back to Noreens around 4ish to hang with her boyfriend Steve - N made some really really good Talapia with a Thai red curry sauce. Delicious! We then went out for gelato at a place called Frost. Very good and a really interesting little store - I wish I had my camera with me - you don't find Gelato places like this in the NE - or at least, I don't. Very yummy.

Noreen and Steve showed me a nearby hotel with really cool grounds, and they enjoyed some coffee in the lounge listening to a singer. She was really quite good.

Got back to the house to play some cribbage. Was doing ok, but snatched the victory from Steve with a four or five pegs and a afinal 16 point hand! Nice. Noreen wants a rematch tonight! Heh.
